I purchased a copy of this audiobook on Audible, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Britney Spears is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award–winning pop icon and of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in music history, with more than 100 million records sold worldwide. In 2021, she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. Spears’s album Blackout was added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Library & Archives in 2012. She lives in Los Angeles, California.

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

“Singing is magic.”

I want to hug Britney and tell her that nothing that happened was her fault. I also want to tell her family they are trash, and I hope they have the day they deserve forever.

While I understand why she didn’t narrate her book, I wish she had. But Michelle Williams did a fantastic job and portrayed Britney’s journey beautifully.

There were many things I did not know, and as someone who grew up loving this lady, I am both saddened and disappointed that she had to endure so much cruelty at the hands of people who claimed they cared.

I found this book to be honest, vulnerable, and hopeful. Britney shared so much of herself with her readers. She is also a lot more spiritual than I ever knew.

It’s like meeting her all over again. And while I am sad that she has no plans at this time to put out new music, I hope she is having the time of her life, loving her insta fashion shows and dancing videos.

I love that she is so proud of her album Blackout. That is my favorite record she has ever released. I bought it the day it came out and played it in my car for six or seven months. To this day, that album holds steady as a top for me—excellent writing, beats, lyrics, and danceability.

If ever there was a person who deserved to be blissfully happy for the rest of their life, it is Britney Spears.
