Evie Alexander is an award-winning author of sexy romantic comedies with a very British sense of humour. A self-confessed ‘method writer,’ Evie has taken it upon herself to live a full and messy life, from which romantic and personal failures become fodder for her laugh-out-loud plotlines. Imaginative, passionate and frequently called ‘bonkers’ by her friends, Evie’s interests include reading, eating, saving the world, and fantasising about people who only exist between the pages of her books. Evie lives in the West country with her family, where she pens her steamy stories from the Smut Hut.

Will he show her heaven, or take her straight to hell?
Vicar Eveline Shaw has always dreamed of finding ‘the one’, but her job keeps getting in the way. She may be kind and beautiful, but men run a mile when they discover who her boss is. Only one person has ever made her soul sing — a perfect stranger who walked away without a second glance.
Escort Jack Newton’s got a talent few men have, and it’s made him rich. But his job’s a dirty secret, and as his bank account gets bigger, his heart gets smaller. He left his one chance at happiness at a bar and didn’t look back.
When Jack’s dragged back to Somerset after his abusive father dies, he falls into a nightmare. His dream woman may be living in Foxbrooke, but she wants a happy-ever-after and he’s an escort with no plans to stick around.
Can Jack show Eveline heaven and keep his secret safe, or are they both headed straight for hell?

“It’ll never be with me.”

Eveline is a vicar who wants to see the best in everyone and be as open and welcoming as possible. She doesn’t say no and often over-extends herself, but she works hard to be the best at what she does. Jack has spent the last decade living in France. Drinking wine and living a reasonably glamorous life. When he gets news that his father has died suddenly, he has to go home for the first time in ten years. He has started his countdown to leaving before he’s even arrived until he reconnects with a beautiful woman.

This was so sweet! I love that this series is so different from Evie’s other series. The characters are just as brilliantly developed, and the humor and steamy scenes are just as excellent, but the vibes are different in the best way.

I loved Eveline. She was so innocent yet realistic. I love how open and kind she was. She truly sees the best in people, and she tries to live her life in the most unselfish way possible.

I loved everything about Jack, from his flaws to struggles to his desire to be a better man. He was such a fantastic leading man, and his development was beautiful.

I enjoyed the way this story moved along. The plot was engaging and well-paced. There was well played humor mixed with drama and, of course, spice.

I am ready for the next installation in this series. I am so invested in these characters and their journey!
