She writes stories about obsession and betrayal. When she’s not putting her characters in uncomfortable, difficult positions, J.S. Ellis likes to relax with her husband and their fur baby, Eloise. They live on the sunny island of Malta.

After losing his wife, his son became his focus. He would do anything to keep his son happy, healthy, and alive. Maurice feels lost; his mother dying has thrown him into a tailspin. His dad is trying to give him space, but it isn’t until he meets her that he feels alive again. What would a parent do to protect their child?
This was intense! Told from a father’s perspective, which added an interesting spin to this tale, we witness several people descend into the blankness.
The way the characters were written in this book was so clever. I don’t think we were meant to like anyone, but we were meant to feel empathy towards everyone. The way the reader is manipulated throughout this book is clever.
This book moved fast, and the plot was thick. So much chaos and anger, confusion, and love were mixed between these pages. I love the way J.S. Ellis tells a story. She has the incredible ability to curate scenes that feel authentic.
This is the perfect book if you are looking for a fast-paced, quick read.
