Evie Alexander is an award-winning author of sexy romantic comedies with a very British sense of humour. A self-confessed ‘method writer,’ Evie has taken it upon herself to live a full and messy life, from which romantic and personal failures become fodder for her laugh-out-loud plotlines. Imaginative, passionate and frequently called ‘bonkers’ by her friends, Evie’s interests include reading, eating, saving the world, and fantasising about people who only exist between the pages of her books. Evie lives in the West country with her family, where she pens her steamy stories from the Smut Hut.

Shy and reserved Lord Henry Foxbrooke is the reluctant heir to his eccentric father’s estate. His outrageous family want him back in Somerset and settling down, but he wants a stress-free life in London. Facing a weekend of celebrations for his thirtieth birthday, he needs a fake girlfriend to get them all off his back.
Free-spirited ray of sunshine Libby Fletcher is down on her luck. Teaching improv workshops isn’t cutting it when she loses her home and savings… and her pregnant business partner’s about to pop. When Henry offers her the acting gig of a lifetime, she leaps.
But when they arrive in Somerset, neither is prepared for what his family have planned. As their worlds collide, friendship blurs and faking it starts to feel real. When disaster sends their house of cards tumbling down, Henry and Libby are forced to face some home truths. They may be lying to the Foxbrookes, but are they also lying to themselves?
“Such fun!”
Libby runs an improv class with her best friend, and they also run team-building courses for corporate businesses. When one such class leads to meeting the serious Henry, an unlikely relationship forms.
BE STILL MY HEART. This love story is so grossly swoon-worthy- heart eyes forever!
I was nervous about this book because I loved the Kinloch series. Those characters, especially Zoe and Rory, were brilliantly written, and their stories stole my heart. However, this book and storyline are entirely different.
I loved how sweet this romance was. The slow burn of the build-up was so classically beautiful. I found the parallels to Pride & Prejudice delightful, and the characters were incredibly charming.
Evie has a talent for creating vibrant, fun characters, and this book did not disappoint. I loved Henry, who was serious and calm, and Libby, who was bright and cheerful. Their connection was lovely.
The other characters are so much fun and add buoyancy to this story. I look forward to seeing what shenanigans they all get up to. If the first sentences of this book are not the most Evie Alexander humor, I don’t know what is!
I loved the humor, the romance, and the spice. This was the perfect balance and such an easy read. This story will capture your heart and hold you hostage, until the end. I am ready for the next book in this series!
