Jennifer Haymore is a USA Today bestselling author of sexy historical and contemporary romance. You can find Jennifer in Southern California trying to talk her husband into yet another trip to England, helping her three children with homework while brainstorming a new five-minute dinner menu, or crouched in a corner of the local bookstore writing her next novel.

The beloved “sunshine” of the ton, Miss Charlotte Chapman, is trapped in the carriage with an utter madman. There’s simply no other explanation for it. Why else would the rough, reclusive Earl of Trevelyan—her deceased brother’s most beloved friend—sweep her away during a terrible snowstorm without explanation? All she knows is that his rather boorish behavior somehow involves her pending betrothal…

Trevelyan has a reputation for being something of a beast in society’s circles, but nothing—nothing—will stop him from rescuing Charlotte from her disastrous engagement. He promised his best friend that she and her sister would be looked after. Of course, the earl can only protect her from the blackguard who’s trying to marry her. Protecting her from himself is quite another matter…

Now, thanks to their upended carriage, they’re stranded at a country inn—which has only one room left. And all it takes is one kiss to unlock the simmering desires they’ve never admitted…and a heartbreaking secret that could shatter Charlotte into a million pieces.

“You are everything I’ve ever wanted.”

After the sudden death of her brother, Charlotte is desperate to find security for her and her sister, Celine. Even if that means agreeing to marry a man she doesn’t love. Finn is an unconventional earl who isn’t afraid to work with the people. He doesn’t dress in fancy clothes, and he’s considered a recluse. Love is the last thing on his mind.

This was an easy read. I enjoyed how the story flowed, and I was drawn to the characters. I liked Finn right away; he was a classic good guy. Brooding and a tad rough around the edges, with shadows in his past. Delicious!

Charlotte was sweet. She had a charm to her that was innocent, but she was also very smart. I found her loyalty to be lovely. I enjoyed the chemistry between Charlotte and Finn and found their romance sweet.

This storyline moves fast, which keeps me engaged. I enjoyed the descriptions and the side characters as well. This is the perfect steamy read!
