Gwenda Bond is the New York Times bestselling author of many novels, including the first official Stranger Things novel, Suspicious Minds. Her paranormal rom-coms include a duology, Not Your Average Hot Guy and The Date from Hell, and, new in 2023, Mr. & Mrs. Witch. Upcoming projects include Audible Original Series The Youngbloods with Kami Garcia and Sam Humphries (2023), a magical heist novel, and a historical romance series featuring gods, monsters, and witches. She clearly escaped from a classic screwball romantic comedy. She lives in a hundred-year-old house in Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, author Christopher Rowe, and a veritable zoo of adorable doggos and queenly cats.

Griffin Carter is a top agent for a clandestine organization that, well, used to primarily hunt witches, but now mainly tries to shut down supernatural threats their own way. He can’t wait to lay his eyes on the woman he’s about to spend the rest of his life with.
As Savvy walks down the aisle to Griffin, the wedding quickly goes from blessed day to shit show when their true identities are revealed. To say there’s bad blood between their factions is putting it mildly. Savvy and Griffin are tasked to take the other out, but when they discover a secret that could take down both of their agencies, they realize the only way to survive is to team up. With assassins hot on their trail, will Savvy and Griffin make it out alive to try again at ‘I do’?
“Until this is over, we stick together.”
Savvy is devoted to her job. She has put all of her energy into being the best. So when a handsome man finds his way in her path, she is taken aback. Griffin is enamored with Savvy from the start. There is something too magnetic about her. And he is captivated by her beauty, wit, and heart. Too bad the wedding is about to be ruined.
This was very cute. I enjoyed the world-building, the romance mixed with magic, and how the characters brought out the best in each other.
Savvy was such a bold leading lady. I loved how brave she was, how smart, and how her fear didn’t overshadow her passion. Griffin was the perfect balance for Savvy. He was intelligent, kind, and loyal. Their bond is magical.
I loved all the side characters in this book. The banter, dedication, and love were evident and beautiful. I found the way this story was told well done and exciting.
The alternating timelines and perspectives were clever, and I felt they added to the plot. I found myself endeared to these characters. And I loved how things played out.
This was an original, funny, and charming book. I hope it becomes a series because so much should be explored!
