Evie Alexander is an award-winning author of sexy romantic comedies with a very British sense of humour. A self-confessed ‘method writer,’ Evie has taken it upon herself to live a full and messy life, from which romantic and personal failures become fodder for her laugh-out-loud plotlines. Imaginative, passionate and frequently called ‘bonkers’ by her friends, Evie’s interests include reading, eating, saving the world, and fantasising about people who only exist between the pages of her books. Her novel Highland Games won Best in Category in the The CHATELAINE Book Awards for Romantic Fiction and Women’s Fiction 2021.

Evie lives in the West country with her family, where she pens her steamy stories from the Smut Hut.
“I love you to the end of the universe.”
Sam has found fame acting on a popular English soap, but she dreams of more. When she learns her best friend is working with one of Hollywood’s biggest stars at Kinloch castle, she knows this is her chance. Jamie is steady and scheduled. He lives at home with his mom because she needs him, and he does things that make him happy. He’s shy and happy staying out of the spotlight until a blond bombshell crashes into his life.
This was so sweet. I’ve been reading for Evie since she released the first book in this series, and I love seeing her characters develop. It takes an excellent eye for detail to tell separate stories within the same period, within the realm of different books. But she nailed it.
I loved getting to know these characters more. Sam is so energetic and fun. Jamie is so strong and kind. Morag has been a favorite side character from the start; her warmth and love are beautiful. I enjoyed Fiona and her sass as well.
This story was charming. The way the romance was so ingrained in the story was lovely. There was a lot of excellent character development throughout, and I enjoyed the emotional elements.
As always, the humor was fantastic. Evie is so funny, and her characters reflect that. The situations, comments, and moments are so well delivered and amusing.
Seeing this storyline from another perspective was great. I love how different the couples are and how passionate they can be. Jamie was a surprise, but I found him so endearing.
I love how Evie tells a story. There are so many beautiful moments; she plays the balance of sweet, steamy, emotional, and chaos perfectly. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series- how can things possibly get any better?
