I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
AJ Campbell is the Amazon bestselling author of four psychological suspense novels. She draws inspiration for her writing from many facets of everyday life. The human mind and how different people react to each other and interact in society fascinates her. She loves settling down with a good book and enjoys thought-provoking stories that beg the question – what would I have done in that situation?

“You never know what goes on behind the closed doors of a family home.”
Steph is a devoted mom and a respected auditor at work. When her boss tells her he’s sending her to New York to sort out some potentially shady business, she is slightly annoyed but primarily excited that this could finally lead her to the big promotion. New York starts as the city of dreams, meeting a man on her first day and falling for him quickly. But then everything changes.
This was so intense! AJ Campbell has done it again! Another fast-paced, wickedly intense, twisted thriller.
I enjoyed the characters in this novel. I also enjoyed the subtle hints dropped throughout that told more than initially realized. This was a bit like the film Taken.
People can be deceiving, and just when you think you know someone- they can surprise you. The build-up for this book started softly. The incline was so gentle that it wasn’t until you were free-falling down the other side that you realized the climb was steep.
The scariest part of this book is that something like this could happen. The realism mixed with the storytelling will hold you hostage until your heart feels like it will jump out of your chest.
