But that’s never happened to me…
I’ve never felt conflicted on any case. Right is right and wrong is wrong. It’s simple. Black and white. There’s no such thing as a gray area.
But fuck this case. I don’t even know what side I’m on anymore. I don’t understand how this town can continue to function without breaking under the weight of all the lies they’ve spun and lived.
Every time I find a shard of truth, my gut twists, my heart beats faster, and I hate this place a little more. Every time I think I’ve heard the worst, another truth is dug up from the ashes of more burning lies.
Worst of all, I don’t even know who to trust anymore. My head is all messed up.
I pride myself on being impossible to fool.
I’m an expert at knowing when someone is lying to me.
I never believed in being blinded by love…until Lana.
“It’s like we’ve been cursed from the very beginning.”
Logan and his team are all in Delaney, hoping to figure out what secrets are being kept there. Lana is still looking for revenge, and being back at the place that took everything from her is messing with her head.
OH, MY GOOD GOLLY. This book was so intense. I love the profiler aspect; it’s very Criminal Minds. Logan is so in love with Lana that even when the truth is staring him in the face, he can’t see it.
Lana is not quite the queen of control in this book, which breaks my heart a little. The way things are described is so raw and so honest that you can’t help but feel for the little girl who has lost so much and the woman who is taking it back.
I hope the sheriff gets his because that guy is a monster. The arrogance of this character makes my blood boil. I hope Justin is served.
Leonard’s conversation with Logan toward the end had me speed-reading to see what would happen. The tension is real, and the drama is high.
As I prepare to dive into the final book in this series, I am nervous and a little scared. I think I know what will happen, and I don’t know if I want to be correct.
