I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
Zoe Adams is an audacious author exploring the layered ups and downs of love.A passionate writer, she draws her inspiration from a variety of sources. Her admirationfor romance books, her understanding of human character, and her observing eye for exciting scenarios are a few of them. But above all, her greatest writing gift is her bold, unapologetic love for love itself.
“But I warn you: we’ll see each other again.”
Friday is an up-and-coming fashion designer about to open a store in New York. When she accidentally grabs a suitcase that looks like hers, she is stuck swapping cases with the other person. She didn’t expect the sparks.
I liked Friday as our leading lady in this novella. She has a calm confidence that seems effortless, though she works hard at everything.
Her ambition and drive spoke to me, and I enjoyed reading about her endeavors to get funding for her clothing store. She had a goal, and she worked to achieve it.
I didn’t love the love interest in this story. I feel like Friday deserved better, and while I understand the balance that opposites bring and the connection you feel with the one- but how much of that spark is just lust?
Something about this series that is different for Zoe is there are no steamy scenes at all. A considerable emphasis is placed on the relationship and character development, which I love, and it’s charming watching two hearts connect without the physical.
I am looking forward to reading the next installation!
