I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Melinda Woodhall is the author of the new Veronica Lee Thriller series, as well as the page-turning Mercy Harbor Thriller series. In addition to writing romantic thrillers and police procedurals, Melinda also writes women’s contemporary fiction as M.M. Arvin.

A Sadistic Killer is Driven by a Tragic Past
When the FBI links a series of brutal murders to a charismatic self-help guru, criminal psychologist and ex-profiler Bridget Bishop returns to the Bureau’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, determined to unravel the motive behind an unseen predator’s insatiable urge to kill.

Racing against time to unmask the killer before he takes another victim, Bridget makes a terrifying discovery, shedding new light on the killer’s shadowy past.

And as the investigation closes in, the killer sets his sights on those closest to Bridget, setting off a chain of events that will draw her into the darkest corners of the evil predator’s twisted mind.

“I think they’d want us to be happy…and loved.”

Bridget is asked to conduct a review as a favor that she knows will be emotionally draining. But when women attending a self-help love show keep turning up dead, the BAU comes calling. Bridget is still against returning until her best friend starts attending the live shows. Suddenly, Bridget knows she has to protect Daphne, putting her in the killer’s crosshairs.

I enjoy this series so much. I love how the story continues, though each book could be a stand-alone.

I love the characters in this series, and I was happy to see that all the favorites were here. Bridget continues her tug of war between rejoining the FBI and her budding feelings for Santino.

The plot for this book was fast-paced and relevant. I couldn’t put this book down, and I am ready to dive into the next!
