Fragrant Violation by Langley Gray

I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
Langley Gray traveled around the world and was lucky enough to marry her own leading man. Three kids and a house in the suburbs later, she decided to add some adventure back into #thatminivanlife by pursuing her dream of writing fiction. She draws on her degree in psychology to shape (read: torture) her characters and is a ghostwriter for cozy mysteries and children’s books on the side.
“The base notes are desperation, despair, and deceit.”
Nati and Owen are still thriving as a couple. Owen takes Nati to the rodeo to watch the bull riding, her first time ever when tragedy strikes. Of course, Nati gets called to help figure out what went wrong, and with Sal by her side, she can’t fail.
Oh, my heart. I am currently sitting at my gate at Grand Forks International Airport, waiting to start my journey home, and I had to suppress tears. This book was beautiful.
The gang is all here, with more revelations and surprises. Something I love about Langley’s writing is how much research she does.
From the obvious, studying perfumery to the inner workings of bull riding. The story flows smoothly because the research is solid.
I enjoyed that Owen was featured so heavily in this final book. This was really the perfect conclusion to a delightful series.
This is a fast read, with more shenanigans to keep you hooked and the charm and charisma of Nati and Owen to keep you engaged.
I loved how this book wrapped the series up so beautifully. Although, and this could just be my hopeful heart, there could always be a final-final story with Nati!
I have been an arc reader for this series from the beginning, and I am so proud of the beautiful world Langley created. It’s so refreshing to read a cozy mystery filled with sass, humor, puns, and of course, Sal.
As sad as I am to see this series come to an end, I am looking forward to the next creative book(s) that Langley will produce!
