Abby Jimenez is a Food Network winner and New York Times bestselling author. She founded Nadia Cakes out of her home kitchen back in 2007. The bakery has since gone on to win numerous Food Network competitions and has amassed an international cult following. Abby’s wry literary wit was spotlighted as the admin behind the hilarious viral comments on the now-famous Nadia Cakes Vageode ® cake. Abby loves a good romance, coffee, doglets, and not leaving the house.

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people.
Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?
“Grace costs you nothing.”
Alexis comes from a legacy family of doctors. She has a lot of pressure to uphold that honor. She never expected driving her car into a ditch to change her life so completely. Daniel wears many hats, and he does so willingly and selflessly. He is a genuinely good human. So he didn’t think twice when he stopped to help the motorist stranded in the ditch.
I loved this book so much. I immediately fell in love with Alexis and Daniel. The writing, the story, and the beautiful purity were so perfect.
Alexis was such a great character. I love how she came into her own and became her advocate. She realized her worth and found her strength. And she not only figured out how to play the game, she learned how to win.
Daniel was a romance reader’s dream. He oozed kindness, sincerity, and loyalty, and he was not afraid of hard work. He knew what he wanted, and he went after it wholeheartedly.
This book was impossible to put down. My heart went through every range of emotion possible. I loved the easy writing style and the way the plot moved.
This could be a ridiculously charming movie if done correctly. I have never read Abby Jimenez before, but I am definitely aware of her now.
Everything about this story was beautiful.
