I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
Nalani Titcomb was born and raised in Hawaii. Family and faith are most important to her. She is a single mom to an amazing son, whom she says is her greatest accomplishment.

The grumpy Marshals eyes follow Cara everywhere she goes. And as much as she tries to deny it, having him close makes her feel safe. She just wished he didn’t hate her.
When the threats against Cara prove to be more than anyone expected, Mike will do anything, give anything, even his own life, to make sure she’s protected.
“They couldn’t drag me away.”
Cara used to be a teacher but is now the Secretary of the Interior, and she is good at her job. She doesn’t understand why she has a security detail but is quickly grateful for the seemingly brooding man, Mike, when several attempts on Cara’s life leave bodies in its wake.
This was a fast-paced romantic thriller. The two main characters, Cara and Mike, were well written and very sweet. Mike is every bit the hunky leading man romance readers love.
Seemingly fearless and hopelessly devoted to protecting Cara, their circumstances go zero to one hundred quickly. Cara is beautiful, intelligent, and perfectly sweet. When she becomes the target, she has to rely on Mike to keep her safe.
The intensity in this book was high, and things moved quickly. The story builds up in several different ways, but the romance is tightly woven throughout.
The scenery descriptions were stunning, and the side characters added a lot to the support of the plot. It was a sweet story with a connection almost immediately.
I enjoyed watching Mike and Cara find their way to each other. I am happy their romance did not take 200 pages; the chemistry was immediate.
Filled with intense chases, humor, and sassy comments, this was an easy read. Romance fans will love Mike and Cara’s connection.
