Kiersten Modglin is an Amazon Top 30 bestselling author of psychological thrillers, a member of International Thriller Writers and the Alliance of Independent Authors, a KDP Select All-Star, and a ThrillerFix Best Psychological Thriller Award Recipient. Kiersten grew up in rural Western Kentucky with dreams of someday publishing a book or two. With more than twenty-five books published, Kiersten now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, daughter, and two Boston Terriers: Cedric and Georgie. She is best known for her unpredictable psychological suspense.
“Or, so that’s how the story goes.”
Edith thinks her husband, Joe, is having an affair- again. And this time, she is determined to make him pay. So Edith figured out who the woman is and started to weave her web. Trust is a fickle thing, so fragile, so important, and so easily broken.
Whelp- for the first time, I figured out what was going to happen in a KMod book. But the free-fall to the ending has still left me speechless.
The Chicago of it all! I had a complicated relationship with the main characters for several reasons. Still, something I admire about Kiersten is that she is not afraid to write characters she knows her readers will hate.
The character development was divine, which is something KMod is known for. She can curate such vulnerability and craft such poignant emotions into her characters. As a reader, you feel their feelings. The rage, the sadness, the betrayal- it’s presented in such a powerful and realistic manner. Dan was hands down my absolute favorite, a perfect combination of Daniel Levy and Jonathan Van Ness. Chefs kiss, Kiersten!
This was such a beautifully twisted tale that will give you severe whiplash. The pieces all come tragically together in one of the most devastatingly delicious scenes I’ve read from KMod. The way things come together is like a free fall from 30,000 feet- the KMod wind will sting your eyes.
As I read the final chapters, I seriously had “He Had it Comin’” blasting in my head. I loved the goose egg surprise, such an epic nod to precious books.
This is such an unexpected and terrifying thrill ride from start to finish. In typical Kiersten fashion, we go from zero to sixty in four seconds- without brakes.
Pop. Six. Squish.
