I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Beena Khan is a storyteller that brings dark fairytales and myths to life. She writes grim and twisted fairytales with everything enemies to romance including, mafia crime, romantic thrillers, psychological and contemporary fiction that gives you a book hangover. Her books are painful, messy, dangerous, and raw.

One last heist. One last gamble.
Once upon a time…
I’m a woman on the run. A con artist, scamming my way into the rich for my livelihood and my Boss, Ghaffar’s. I set my eyes on one of the most popular casinos in the city.
The Moretti Casino.
The problem is that the owners are two notorious mafia members of one of the most dangerous Families of New York. I slip in, posing as a mafia princess, but then a pair of piercing blue eyes catches me red-handed. The tables have turned… I’m no princess, I’m a thief and he’s the mafia prince.
Romeo Moretti.
I’m given two choices: die or do his bidding.
He has a plan for me. Three wishes he wants from me. And the last wish is… he wants me to rob a rival. I just hope I don’t gamble my heart away to him in the process.

“They lose. That’s typical too.”

She’s plotting to rob a casino. A casino owned by the mob. The last this she expected was the owner to approach her. To show her the stars. To give her choices. To steal her heart.

This series has been so beautiful. Beena has created such a dark, dangerous, deadly world filled with dynamic characters. Beena wrote this book because her readers begged for it.

Romeo is such a deeply complicated character, and I loved his understanding of who and what he is. He is like a lion on the hunt, and he will stop at nothing to protect his pride.

I loved the thief. She was bold, vibrant, and stealthy. I got strong The Name of Red vibes with this character, which for me, was beautifully nostalgic. The Name of Red was the first book I ever read and reviewed, and it was the first book I ever read from Beena.

I loved that this book focused on the thief and her growth. She realizes that she is a victim but also a survivor. That she has strength and the ability to choose.

I loved the balance between the thief and Romeo. Their dynamic was magnetic, intense, and incredibly sexy. This retelling was so well done and so interesting.

Beena gets better with every book she releases. She creates a dark and steamy world filled with memorable characters that her readers fall in love with. This was a beautiful conclusion to a deeply complicated and captivating series.
