I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Kiersten Modglin is an Amazon Top 30 bestselling author of psychological thrillers, a member of International Thriller Writers and the Alliance of Independent Authors, a KDP Select All-Star, and a ThrillerFix Best Psychological Thriller Award Recipient. Kiersten grew up in rural Western Kentucky with dreams of someday publishing a book or two. With more than twenty-five books published, Kiersten now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, daughter, and two Boston Terriers: Cedric and Georgie. She is best known for her unpredictable psychological suspense.

“A dream is its shiniest when it’s still inside your head.”

Cait had a rough go in high school, but she’s more than made up for it in adulthood. Married to Grant, after reconnecting after graduation, Cait is a bestselling author. When she decides to attend her high school reunion, she isn’t anticipating much chaos. Until the past starts crawling out of the darkest depths, Cait thought she’d hidden it. Now, the truth is coming out, and not everyone will make it to the next reunion.

KIERSTEN MODGLIN. When I say my jaw hit the floor, and my mind is blown- Wowza. This was such a fantastic story, the buildup, and the intensity, the characters, the subtle hint at possible madness.

I enjoyed the alternating timeline in which the story is told. A riveting blend of past and present to help tell a dark tale that is almost too good to believe.

I loved Cait! And her growth throughout the book. Seeing her go from feeling invisible in high school to being a successful author, married to the popular guy with beautiful babies. Her success story was almost perfect.

Sam was a perfect friend, on paper. I was very attached to him. He felt very safe, genuine, and trustworthy. Watching him and Cait go from best friends to dating to friends was realistic and something many can relate to.

Grant was the heartthrob of the high school. Everyone knew who he was, and everyone wanted to be on his radar. Despite being wildly popular, Grant was also incredibly kind and had a small-town charm that endears him to you.

This was a stunningly choreographed tango, as we free-fall between past and present. The terrifying events will have you wonder if Cait has a wild imagination but will also have you suspecting everyone.

The twist will come so smoothly, so swiftly, that when it hits, you will be left utterly speechless. This is definitely one of my favorite books KMod published this year, and she is ending 2021 strong. If you are looking for a scary trip down memory lane, make sure you RSVP to The Reunion.
