I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
Amadeus Vültznick delivers a heartfelt book, that offers beautiful lessons within his stories.
“I’d never give up, always believing life gives you back exactly what you put in, determined there was much more to life.”
This is a bittersweet story about a goose who is different from the other geese. He spends his time mostly alone. Until one day, a little person claims him as his friend. As the two build an unconventional relationship, our goose begins to understand the crucial things in life.
Oh, my heart. This book was both charming and brutally realistic. While our main narrator is a goose, who has some deformities, the logic and compassion contained within our sparsely feathered friend is incredible.
This is a story with so many adorable and powerful lessons about life and the value placed on the things we can see. But it’s those things we cannot see but only feel that honestly give life meaning.
A Children’s book should always have a moral and (in my opinion) a happy ending. There is such a beautiful moral to this story, and I think older children will love the way it’s revealed.
While this book is geared toward kids reading chapter books, adults can also enjoy the lesson being taught within this story. We all have a choice; let’s choose kindness.
