“…if you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.”
Rachel and Jack are flying to Portugal for Jack’s brother’s wedding, along with their best friends Paige and Noah. Will and Ali are looking forward to tying the knot in a beautiful location, surrounded by those they love the most. But when Rachel starts getting suspicious of Ali- till death do us part might happen sooner than anyone anticipated.
Whew. This was a ride from page one. I enjoyed how this story just kicked off with a bang and didn’t slow down until the end. We immediately get introduced to most of the lead characters right away as they begin their travels to Will and Portugal.
Right away, we start to see the different personalities start to shine through, and you immediately appreciate the detail that has gone into bringing each character to life. The subtle details and the blatant characteristics make this story come to life in so many ways.
I loved how incredibly flawed the characters all were. No one is blemish-free, and each has moments of selfishness or weakness, and that just further cements the feeling in your head.
There were several beautifully crafted twists in the novel that you won’t see coming whatsoever. The intensity only gets stronger the deeper you fall between pages. The free-fall into the abyss becomes terrifyingly real as things start falling into place.
Three couples, two married for ages and one about to take the plunge, are about to find out what their vows meant… and not everyone will survive.
