Tara Sivec

I purchased this book on Amazon.

Tara Sivec is a USA Today best-selling author, wife, mother, chauffeur, maid, short-order cook, baby-sitter, and sarcasm expert. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children and looks forward to the day when all three of them become adults and move out.

“You can finally go home.”

Ember left her simple life on her family farm for Chicago’s chaotic loudness when her husband got promoted. When the husband drops the “I can’t do this anymore” on her back, Ember finds herself trapped in a city she hates feeling more alone than ever until she gets an assignment for work that changes everything. Suddenly the noise and fast-moving city doesn’t seem so bad.

The emotion packed into this comical nugget is intense. There are so many genuine, raw emotions that Ember experiences living in a place far from home. Her feelings of loneliness and isolation and absolute fear in how she will take care of her son and keep a roof over their heads are very honest and genuine.

The emotions that Barker feels about not wanting to be fawned over for being a Vet or running a gym just for Vets are beautiful. This character is beautiful from the inside out.

The most magical part of this book is that we, the reader, fall in love with Ember and Barker as they fall in love on the pages in front of us. Their love story is so lovely, sweet, sassy, and natural.

Damn you, Sivec.
