“Nobody flocks to the theater to watch a movie about great pals, though they might have the most amazing adventures. Friends can change your life, maybe even save your life if given a chance, but love…oh, the best kind of love…well, that might give you life.”
Jesse thought he had it all until his fiancé broke his heart. But he isn’t angry. He truly wants her to be happy. But now, the void in his heart leads him to a one-night mistake that leads to a surprise that will forever change his life. On top of that, he realizes that he might be in love with his best friend, Quinn. Now, Jesse and Quinn have to figure out just what happens next.
This was a ride. First, reading Jesse and Quinn’s story will melt your heart. If there is such a thing as perfection, here is it. It was wrapped in an enormously complex, wildly twisted tale. Second, power and small towns rarely go well together.
As secrets start to unravel, Jess and Quinn will be tested in more ways than one. With more twists than a heart can handle, oh my GOD KMod, this story is a wild ride from start to finish.
I love the way mess is used throughout this book. It ties the title in so beautifully, and I loved how to book one was intertwined into book two, just enough to keep it fresh. But also while presenting a completely new, absolutely devastating fresh story.
The characters in this book will absolutely take you through the range of emotions. You will fall in love; you will be angry, you will be devastated. This is a tangled web of old history intertwined with current happenings. This is the ultimate mix of the past forever haunting the future.
I could not read this story fast enough. I fell in love with Jesse and Quinn pretty much immediately. I loved them before they knew they loved each other. Also, they go swimming with sharks, which is on my bucket list. So that was an incredible scene.
You will literally feel your heart being constricted as you read this one. And KMod’s talent with words will gently shatter you in every possible way. Prepare yourself; The Healer is everything you want in a book.
