I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

S.A. Thomas has wanted to be a writer her whole life. She started writing short stories when she was younger, but she always dreamed of writing a novel. In her debut novel, we will meet the talents of S.A. Thomas.

“You’re my obsession. My only obsession.”

This book was sent to me by S.A. Thomas in exchange for a review, and this is the first thing I have read from her. Overall, for a debut novel, it was pretty good.

Tasha lives in her family home, secluded in the forest near a lake. She has a group of good friends, but her relationship history is ugly. Tasha receives an eery note one evening, with no stamp or return address, that starts her on a terrifying path to the truth. A truth she never knew she was missing and a future she may not survive to see.

This book was intense. Very twisted and fast-paced. Thomas did a great job developing her characters, and you don’t know who not to trust until the end. Everyone has a potential motive, including our main character Tasha. Could this all be a figment of her imagination?

Set in a lovely locale with quite the cast of characters, this novel will have you on the edge of your seat, unable to breathe properly as you frantically turn the page to get to the truth—very suspenseful, very well placed twists.

There were a few issues that should have been caught in editing. A few sentences that repeated themselves in a way that didn’t make sense to the plot, and a few typos, but overall nothing drastic. As a debut thriller, it’s pretty well done! I will read more from S.A. Thomas.
